Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-3 - Tamiya

Bf 109´s are one of my favourite subjects - they saw action from the Spanish Civil War throughout the end of WW II in all war theaters with German involvement. They can be built in multiple versions and various - and sometimes very attractive - camouflage schemes. All kit manufacturers have at least one Bf 109 in their portfolio. I have a few more in my stash, mainly Hasegawa, Eduard and Tamiya issues. All of them are quick and enjoyable builts.

This is the Tamiya box that you can also find in my first kit recommendation post. The scheme is a non-standard three tone splinter camouflage RLM 65/71/02, with the addition of RLM 63. Some sources indicate RLM 70 as a more likely additional colour, but the lighter version appealed more to me. I used aftermarket decals and PE seatbelts. The aircraft depicts an early Bf 109 E-3 from JG 53, flown by Erich Mix around November 1939.
