This is the first Zero kit issued by Tamiya from 1973. It has been re-engineered with new tools since its initial release, and although it cannot be compared to current standards, it still builds into a beatiful kit right out of the box. I only added some PE seat belts.
In order to break up the monochrome tone a bit, I added a lot of pre-and post shading and used different colours for the control surfaces. The model depicts the aircraft flown by Japanese ace Saburó Sakai around 1942, accurately deprived of its antenna mast.
