Messerschmitt Bf 109 F-2 - Eduard

Bf 109´s are one of my favourite subjects - they saw action from the Spanish Civil War throughout the end of WW II in all war theaters with German involvement. They can be built in multiple versions and various - and sometimes very attractive - camouflage schemes. All kit manufacturers have at least one Bf 109 in their portfolio. I have a few more in my stash, mainly Hasegawa, Eduard and Tamiya issues. All of them are quick and enjoyable builts.

This one is from Eduard. I purchased a cheap and basic "Overtrees" edition, which covers the plastic parts only without manual or decals. I had this particular aftermarket decal set in my stash as a leftover from another build. It would have been a pity not to use the excellent smoke rings, so this was a good combination. Aside from this decal sheet and some PE seats, I did not add any other aftermarket parts. This aircraft from JG 3 was flown on the Russian front by Hans von Hahn around July 1941 and features a non-standard RLM 02/70/65 camouflage, with the yellow tail and cowling overpainted with RLM 71.
